Huge crowds flout norms in Ramlingam Park

PNS

The opening of the Ramlingan Park has triggered much excitement among the residents of Brahmapur. Every evening, thousands of locals along with their families and friends are thronging the park.  On Sunday, being holiday, the huge crowd became so uncontrollable that police had to interfere to maintain normalcy. It was almost difficult even to walk. In the melee many plants   in the park were uprooted and flower pots got damaged.

Due to the Covid-19 restrictions of the Government while all hotels, temples, Kalyan Mandaps are yet to open and large public gatherings are prohibited , the huge crowds are flouting the masking and social distancing rules. This has led to apprehensions that the violators might get infected as pose a threat for others. Intellectuals question as to who would be held responsible if  the virus again spreads in the city.
