BSF jawans and police on Wednesday seized a huge cache of explosives during a joint combing operation against the Maoists in the Samana forest under Podapadara panchayat of the Narayanpatna area in Koraput district.
The explosives included 117 gelatins, three Chinese grenades, a claymore mine and 22 packets of liquid materials. The Maoists had hidden the explosives in the forest, said the police.
Earlier on March 1, two hardcore Maoists Rupana Mandingi and Madhaba Habika of the Srikakulam-Koraput Joint Division Committee of the CPI(Maoist) were caught in Narayanpatna during a joint combing operation.
