Kendrapada district Collector Pramod Kumar Das on Thursday asked all concerned officials to ensure necessary arrangements to combat any eventuality that might arise due to the possible cyclonic storm hitting the State on October 12.
Presiding over a meeting on Thursday, Das asked officials of all line departments to remain on duty on the second Saturday and Sunday. He asked all the Tehsildars and BDOs to remain ready to evacuate all the people from the low lying areas and house them in cyclone shelters beforehand. Mock drills would be organised by the OSDMA on Friday at several flood and cyclone shelters of the district in order to alert villagers ahead of the possible cyclone.
