Pradesh Congress Committee president Niranjan Patnaik on Sunday termed the seizure of nearly three tonnes of heroin at a Gujarat port as a matter of grave concern. Patnaik in a statement questioned as to who ordered for the consignment of such a huge quantity of heroin and who sent it for whom. Isn’t it to spoil the future of Indian youth mass? He said that while market price of drug seized on September 15 would be Rs 21,000 crore, it came through Mumbra Port, whose management control is with Adani Group of companies. It is quit unfortunate to note how employees of the port, narcotics control board, revenue intelligence could not know this and that too it happened in State of Prime Minister and country’s Home Minister.The two consignments of heroin on September 15 and June 2021, both valued at total Rs 1.79 lakh crore, which came to India has raised many questions than answers given, Patnaik added.
