The State Assembly on Wednesday mourned the deaths of three former MLAs, Bira Sipka, Bijay Kumar Nayak and Prahallad Behera, on Wednesday, the first day of its second phase of the ongoing Budget Session.
Brining Obituary References, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief and requested the Speaker to convey the House’s condolences to the bereaved families.
Leader of Opposition (BJP) Pradipta Kumar Nayak and Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra also mourned the deaths of the former members.
Expressing grief, Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro said the condolences of the House would be conveyed to the bereaved families. A one-minute silent prayer was observed for the departed souls.
