Hooda demands CBI inquiry in Hisar rape and murder case

Referring to Pradyuman Thakur’s murder case where Haryana Police had allegedly framed an innocent person, former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Monday demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the rape and murder case of a five-year old girl in Hisar’s Uklana area.

“No arrests have been made in the case so far. The government should transfer the case to the CBI so that the mistakes of Haryana Police as done in Pradyuman’s murder case are not repeated again,” said Hooda while talking to the mediapersons.

Hooda also condemned the BJP led State Government for deteriorating law and order situation and said that such barbaric incidents showed that law and order machinery in the state has collapsed.

The girl child was allegedly abducted from her home, which is part of a slum-dwellers area in Uklana, in the wee hours on Saturday. Her body was found after few hours at a distance from the place where she was living with her family.

The State Government had formed a SIT to investigate the rape and murder case.

The leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly and INlD’s senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala has demanded immediate arrest of accused in the case,

While 9010 cases of crime against women were registered in the year 2014, it increased to 9511 in 2015 and 9839 cases in 2016.  There has also been a huge increase in the incidents of rape, said Chautala while quoting the NCRB report.

He said that the government has failed to keep a check on crime rate in the state.

On the other hand, Kiran Choudhry, leader of the Haryana Congress legislature Party, has squarely blamed the insensitive Khattar Government for the rape and murder of the child and demanded that time-limit be set for the SIT, set up to investigate the case, to submit its report, and the case be put on trial in a fast-track court.
