'Hold re-election to P'khemundi Bar Assn'

PNS

Former Paralakhemundi Bar Association president Ramanath Mishra has alleged that the recent elections to the association current election are invalid.

The returning officer did not follow any rules and regulations in the election, Mishra complained at a Press meet held here on Sunday. There are irregularities in ballot papers also, he said.

He also alleged that though librarian laxmi Prasad Mohapatra was elected unopposed, his name was not declared. As many as seven executive members were elected instead of six members, which is also illogical, Mishra said. For these irregularities, some association members have resigned from their posts, he said and demanded a reelection of the association.

On the other hand, association president P Prasad Rao, when asked, refuted the allegations.
