Heaps of medicines found dumped in Kendrapada

PNS

The locals on Tuesday stumbled upon heaps of medicines with their expiry dates yet to be completed dumped in the premises of the Chatta Community Health Center (CHC).

They would be worth thousands of rupees.

The matter was later informed to Kendrapada CDMO Binayak Prusty. The CDMO directed the ADMO (PH) to conduct an inquiry and submit a report within 24 hours.

ADMO (PH) Mirja Babar Baig rushed to the Chatta CHC and conducted an inquiry. He found that the medicines thrown away had not completed their expiry dates.

“I have conducted an inquiry and verified the medicine wrappers. Injections, tablets and syrups meant for free distribution were thrown away. Some antibiotic injections, syrups, insulins and tablets were also dumped despite the fact that they had not expired,” admitted Dr Baig.

When contacted the CDMO Prusty stated that he would take necessary action against those found guilty after getting the inquiry report.
