The Ganjam district administration has decided to conduct health screening of all people at doorsteps from June 8 to 12 in view of the Covid-19 situation in the district.
For this, Gram panchayats would be divided into units having 700 households each. A team comprising a teacher/Anganwadi Worker, a health worker and an ANM would visit each household and conduct thermal screening of all family members.
If any person found symptomatic, information regarding him/her would be given to the concerned RRT. On the same day, the RRT would undertake detailed medical check-up of all members of the concerned family. If the RRT feels that the person might have Covid-19 symptoms, then the RRT would refer the person to the nearest Covid Care Centre, sources said.
Once the symptomatic suspect case is referred to a Covid Care Centre, the Nodal Medical Officer would conduct a thorough check-up of the person and report the findings to the office of the CDM and PHO, sources added.
On Saturday, district Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange had declared 19 villages under Badapalli gram panchayat in Khollilte block as containment and buffer zones after 12 persons engaged in different TMCs tested positive for the virus.
While nine villages were declared as containment zones, 10 affirmed as buffer ones. Movement of people inside, to and from containment zones has been strictly prohibited.
However, movement of people in buffer zone is allowed only for emergencyservices.
The CDMO and the PHO have been directed to complete house to house screening, swab collection of active contacts and shifting of positive patients to Covid hospitals immediately.
