A video purportedly showing security guards were attending to patients at a Government-run health facility has gone viral on social media. In the footage, one of them is seen checking the blood pressure of a female patient sitting on a chair in the Soro community health centre (CHC).
After the matter came to the knowledge of the authorities at the District Headquarters Hospital, a probe has been ordered, reports said.
Notably, earlier similar cases were reported and it is alleged that the security guards are often seen issuing OPD tickets at the reception counter and handling critical care including checking blood pressure etc.
“Except doctor, no one else is authorised to check the blood pressure. It is a sensitive issue that security guards are treating patients. An inquiry is underway and action would be taken against those responsible for these lapses ,” said a doctor at the DHH.
