Normal life was affected at Banki due to a 12-hour bandh called by locals demanding restoration of peace in the Banki College after a clash between some youths and students of the college on August 22.

While shops and other business establishments remained closed, vehicular movement came to a grinding halt as people staged road blockades by burning tyres. They also demanded arrest of the youths involved in the incident.
