It is an eco-friendly and safe building and first of its kind in the State capital city. The building has been constructed for storage of census data and National Population Register (NPR) records for the country’s eastern region at Janaganana Bhawan, Saheed Nagar, Bhubaneswar, with an estimated cost of Rs12.75 crore.

A heavy duty rack system has been provided for storage of 14 crore census data. For record keeping, a bar coding system and quick scanner are installed. The building is fully fireproof. Ceiling sprinkler and upright sprinklers are installed to escape fire damage. Fire alarm system is connected to fire panel to indicate fire location.
