The Officer-in-Charge of Railway Protection Force (RPF), Baleswar, was taken to custody for interrogation on graft charges by the CBI sleuths on Saturday.
The RPF officer KP Pathak had allegedly demanded Rs 1.5 lakh bribe from a container transport company to do away with a case pertaining to an over-height container. The container, reportedly of more than the prescribed height, was heading for Kalinga Nagar in Jajpur district from Mumbai. Pathak had initially demanded Rs 3 lakh from the transport company, sources said. After receiving a compliant from the company, a four-member CBI team was camping here to nab the accused.
