The special court of the vigilance here convicted former Phulbani PHD executive engineer Sarat Kumar Mohapatra in a disproportionate assets case and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment (RI) for a year and pay a fine of Rs21,600 or in default undergo RI for a month more.
Mohapatra had acquired immovable properties like two plots and one triple storied building in Brahmapur. His movable properties, including bank deposits, motor vehicle, postal account, were worth Rs8, 97,825. Total assets were calculated at Rs11, 28,478.
