Odisha Krushak Samaj Chairman Dr Purna Chandra Mohanty on Tuesdayrequested the State Government to postpone the proposed State-level Agriculture Fair-2017 (Krushi Mahotsav) to November or December in view of scorching heat conditions prevailing in the city now. The fair is scheduled to be held from April 10 to 13 at Biju Patnaik Playground at Baramunda.
Though the State has got “Krushi Karman” award for the 4th time, yet farmers are neglected in the State. Asking farmers to come and exhibit their produces while temperature is varying from 40 to 44 degree Celsius is not good idea. There are chances of sunstroke, argued Dr Mohanty.
November or December would be pleasant weather for holding the grand festival, he suggested.
