The State Government would submit all documents before the Human Resources Development Ministry on Friday in support of its recommendation for establishment of the proposed Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at Sambalpur.
“The proposed IIM should be established at Sambalpur for which the State Government has sent recommendations. Requisite documents in favour of Sambalpur would be submitted before the HRD Ministry on Friday,” said Employment and Technical Education and Training Minister told mediapersons.
Meanwhile, members of the IIM Forum Bhubaneswar have opposed the State Government’s proposal for establishment of the premier institute at Sambalpur. Senior Congress leader Suresh Chandra Routray said the proposed IIM should be set up in Bhubaneswar as the city fulfills all criteria. “The State should change the site soon to Bhubaneswar and send recommendations soon. Else we will take to street,” said Routray.
