The State Government would felicitate Anganwadi Worker Rama Sahu (46) of Khandara village under Ganjam district's Hinjilikatu block for her dedication in serving people despite being a cancer patient herself.
Government spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi announced this in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Married in 1989, Rama has lost two children. She was detected positive for cancer in 2014. She sold her house to meet her treatment expenses.
Despite all these sorrows, she has been handling all responsibilities entrusted to her as an Anganwadi Worker for the last 12 years. She has been involved in immunization programmes, teaching children, taking care of pregnant women and many other Government programmes.
