The State Government has convened a meeting of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) authorities and all stakeholders on October 19 to discuss on a schedule for the annual High School Certificate (HSC) examinations-2017.

In view of the State panchayat elections due in February next year, the State Election Commission has asked the BSE not to go in for any examinations during electioneering.

School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said discussion on tentative dates for the examination would be discussed on that day.

“Both panchayat elections and matriculation examinations are equally important. We have convened a meeting on October 19 to discuss on the possible dates for the Matric examinations,” said Misha.

Sources said the election is likely to be held between February 12 and 19. And the matriculation examination would probably begin from February 28.

To avoid the scorching summer, the BSE had been holding the matriculation examination in February every year for the past several years.
