The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Odisha on Wednesday severely criticised the State Government for stopping job fairs for the students of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) permanently.
“The State Government has cheated over 40,000 BPUT students by cancelling job fair and indirectly hinted that there has been no employment opportunity for youths and possibility of setting up of industries,” alleged BJYM State president Tankadhar Tripathy in a statement.
He said the BPUT had taken Rs100 from each of over 40,000 students promising them to hold a mega job fair at the Kalinga Stadium from June 17 to 20 in September 2014. Though a Ministerial Committee led by Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra had been formed to hold the fair, yet that was cancelled. Recently, the Technical Education and the BPUT have announced not to hold the job fair.
“The students have been mentally tortured and their future has been pushed into dark,” Tripathy said.
He threatened that the BJYM would take to the street against this lackadaisical attitude of the State Government.
