The State Government has issued a notification for abolition of the contractual system of recruitment after the employees protested against it for long. In fact, the Government made repentance for its earlier sin, said the Congress on Sunday.
According to the announcement, 57,000 employees have been freed from the disgusting system. But beyond this figure, there are thousands of employees who are still working on contractual basis. As many as 50,000 employees are working under the Rural Health Mission, junior teachers in primary schools, OSEPA, Lecturers and employees under the new grant-in-aid. There is no continuity or surety about their jobs. The Government should come clear on this, said party State spokesperson Sudarshan Das.
Presently, there are more than 1 lakh outsourcing employees in the State and they are working for paltry salaries. They have no surety of getting the social benefits. The Government should also provide justice to them, said Das.
