The General Insurance Employees Joint Forum observed a one-day strike here on Friday as part of a nationwide strike on the day.
The members squatted in front of all 4 PSU insurance companies’ regional offices such as Oriental Insurance Co. Ltd., National Insurance Co. Ltd., New India Assurance Co. Ltd and United India Insurance Co. Ltd.
The forum pressed for demands like wage revision pending since 1.8.2017 at par with L.I.C, 30% family pension and pension under 1995 pension scheme 1995 for those who have joined after 01.04.2010, 14% management contribution for NPS linked employees, repealing the General Insurance Nationalization amendment Bill -2021 and merger of all PSU companies to form a monolithic large company like LIC of India.
SS Mohapatra, Trilok Singh, Bishnu Agarwal, Raju, SanjayaJha, Pitambar Verma, Vijaya Sharma, Laxmi Narayan among others were present.
