The State Government has no information regarding number of girls and minor girls sent to outside by the labour supply agents and how many of them subjected to different kinds of torture.
labour and Employees’ State Insurance Minister Sushant Singh informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MlA Chandra Sekhar Majhi recently.
However, the Minister informed that the labour Directorate rescued 16 girls and minor girls of Keonjhar district from a factory in Delhi and two girls of Nayagarh and two girls of Puri districts factories in Andhra Pradesh.
The Directorate collected outstanding dues of Rs 32,062 from the concerned factory owner for the two Puri girls. Action has beent taken against the labour agent, who had trafficked Keonjhar girls to Delhi, the Minister said.
