A few days after holding a mass demonstration and public meeting in front of the State Assembly, a five-member delegation of the Aarthika Sansthamananka Dwara Kshatigrastanka Milita Mancha (ASDKMM) on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir demanding return of money to the depositors at the earliest.

The demanded that a corpus fund as promised by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik be created soon and Tehsidars be asked to identify the duped depositors and the amount they have lost to the fraudulent companies for safe return of money.

“Though the announcement of the corpus fund had been made by the State Government last year, it is yet to get the approval of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. As a result, lakhs of small and genuine depositors have been left high and dry without any hope. Hence, we urged the Governor to ensure early refund of money to the depositors,” said Mancha convenor Jayanta Das.

Among others, Mancha chief advisor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and Rabi Das met the Governor.
