A number of youths who had received their training in different trades at the Gopalpur Tata Steel Project Training Centre have been staging a dharrna in front of the Tata Steel (Gopalpur Project) Institute office at village Mandiapalli near here since May 15 demanding employment in the company to all the trained boys and girls of the area.
Mention may be made that these local youths were imparted training by the Tata Steel (Gopalpur Project) assuring them to provide jobs in the company 15 years back, but they are still unemployed.
If the youths are not given employment in the Tata Steel company within a month for which they had received training, they would be forced to go on indefinite hunger strike till their demands are met, sources said.
