Three bogies of a goods train derailed near the Sikharpur level-crossing here on Sunday. The train was on its way here from Jharsuguda.

As a result, movement of trains on the uplink was affected for long. The incident occurred at around 11:50 am. The Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express, the New Delhi-Puri Nandankanan Express and the Howrah-Secunderabad Express were stranded at different locations due to the mishap.
