Alleging harassment by the warden, as many as 64 tribal girls of the Mohana Government High School in Gajapati district left their hostel on Monday.According to reports, the warden Ranjita Sualasingh had allegedly abused and harassed the inmates of the hostel after they didn’t adhere to her order of not going to watch Saraswati Puja in the locality recently.
The inmates had then reported the matter to the school authorities. However, instead of taking action against the warden, the authorities had asked her to go on leave.
Besides, the students have alleged poor-quality food being provided to them in the hostel.Meanwhile, the parents of the students blocked the Berhampur-Rayagada Road near the hostel demanding ouster of the warden.
