At last, the police on Sunday arrested the chartered accountant (CA) of the town Rohit Singhania, allegedly responsible for suicide of a girl, Rupali Dey.
The parents of the girl, members of different political parties, civil societies and the Bengali community had demanded arrest of Singhania alleging that he was entirely responsible for the suicide of the meritorious girl a month back. Rupali, a CA student and a gold medalist, was doing her internship under Singhania. But due to the atrocity on her and frequent harassment, she was compelled to end her life and she clearly wrote this in her suicidal note.
There were sharp reactions in the city after the death of the girl. Different organisation met the higher police authorities demanding arrest of Singhania.
