A ghani oil production centre was inaugurated and foundation stone for a mini honey processing plant was laid at Udyogpuri here on Tuesday. Both projects are of the Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board (OK and VIB).
60 litres of pure mustard oil will be extracted every day at the oil production centre.The Ghani units which are iron and wooden structures will not damage any medicinal value. It is an initiative of the board to provide pure ghani mustard oil to the people of the State. It has been proposed to install more numbers of ghani for extraction of different kinds of ghani oil to met demand of public of the State, said the officials.
Similarly, in view of increasing demand for honey the Board is establishing one honey processing plant with capacity of processing100 kg of honey per day replacing the manual system of processing. The Board will be able to supply more processed honey inside and outside the State.
At the function sanction letters of village industries promoted by the Board were distributed to 26 entrepreneurs of six districts.
MSME Department Minister Jogendra Behera,Bhubaneswar (Central) MlA Bijay Ku Mohanty, Odisha Khadi and Village Industries Board President Tejeshwar Parida and MSME Department Principal Secretary lN Gupta were present.
