Ambika Benia, a Sub-Inspector of the Purushottampur police station in Ganjam district, was arrested and later, a case was registered against her by the Vigilance for receiving bribe from a person at her Government quarter. On a complaint of M Dandapani Patra of Sikulipalli village, the Brahmapur Vigilance laid a trap at Benia’s residence in the police station campus on January 16 last and nabbed her while she was receiving `15,000 cash from Patra. The cash was seized. The trap was led by DSP HK Behera.
