Ganjam PET gets clerk's salary for 13 yrs!

PNS

PET Bijay Adhikari of Pharmacy College at Mohuda has threatened stir with his family in front of the office of the Principal against injustice.

His contention is that though he was appointed as a PET in due process of appointment in the college during the time the college was run by a private management, later when the Government took over it, his post was regularized as clerk instead of PET.

He alleged that despite repeated representations before the authorities, his grievances re not addressed.

It may be mentioned here that, Adhikari, a professionally trained PET, was selected through a duly constituted selection committee before appointment in 1995 initially on part time basis at Rs 45 per day as salary which was increased to Rs 55 in May 1997. Recognizing his contributions and competence, his salary was again hiked to Rs1, 500 per month since April 1998 on consolidated basis.

later, his pay was raised at different times and it was Rs 3,000 per month in December 2003.  However, when Adhikari’s post was regularised after 9 years of his service in 2004, it was in the post of clerk and the pay scale Rs 3,050-75-3950-80-4,590 with usual HR and DA, deviating the rules.

As a consequence, Adhikari made an appeal to the college authority for necessary rectification but it went unheeded.

Adhikari further alleged that, the college authorities cheated him in a planned manner for vested interest. For instance, when both Berhampur University and State Government accorded permission to open new Bio Sciences Department (Microbiology and Biotechnology), his name figured as PET in that very recognition letter. This indicates as to how the college has fraudulently en-cashed his name repeatedly suppressing facts. Similarly in April 2016 when a high-powered team of experts from PCI came to the Mohuda Pharmacy College on inspection, Adhikari was summoned before the team as a regular PET.
