To provide timely advice to Matric pass-out students for pursuing technical education, Headmasters of all high schools in Ganjam district discussed the matter in detail at a meeting held here on Monday.
The meeting presided over by District Education Officer Sanatana Panda decided to appoint a Nodal Officer from among the teachers in each school for the purpose.
Earlier, district Collector Prem Chandra Choudhury advised that high school teachers should give proper advice to Class X pass-out students to pursue technical education as most of them stop continuing study after the HSC exam. Ganjam district has a large number of Government technical education institutions like ITIs and Diploma Engineering colleges in which students can take admissions and build good careers, he had said.
It was decided that Nodal Officers would provide guidance to students to pursue technical education for good career instead of instead of stopping study altogether.
About 600 Headmasters from high schools under three subdivisions of Brahmapur, Chhatrapur and Bhanjanagar attended the meeting.
