The BJP on Sunday alleged that local Biju Yuva Bahini presidents have bungled funds meant for welfare of people in Ganjam district.
“While Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is talking of poor’s welfare, Biju Yuva Bahini presidents are pocketing funds meant for the poor,” alleged BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty.
He said two Biju Yuva Bahini presidents, Shibaram Pradhan and Ranjan Kumar Das, of Dharakote block have misappropriated all funds that had come from the Centre under the Swachh Bharat Gramina Yojana. They transferred the money of beneficiaries to their own accounts, Mohanty alleged.
“Even as Krushak Morcha district president Pradeep Patri filed complaints against the two Biju Yuva Bahini presidents, the police are protecting them instead of arresting them. “It is learnt from the RTI reply that Rs 6.50 lakh has been transferred to accountes of the two presidents,” said Mohanty.
He also alleged that funds coming under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been bungled by BJD leaders.
Among others, party spokesperson Golak Mohapatra, executive member Mahesh Mohanty and Krushak Morcha president Pradeep Patri were present.
