A woman was torched by her in-laws at Gothakeli of Mohana block in Gajapati district on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Manini Behera, wife of Madhusudan Behera of Gothakeli and daughter of one Narayan Nayak.
She was continuously being tortured by Madhusudan's family. She was rescued in critically injured condition and first admitted at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital, Brahmapur and later, shifted to Sum Hospital in Bhubaneswar, but she succumbed to her injuries.
Her brother filed a FIR at Bharatpur police station of Bhubaneswar and at Mohana police station. The Mohana police held Madhusudan and forwarded him to court, stated IIC Mohana Sujit Kumar Nayak.
