Even though a special building has been constructed for the Gajapati District Consumer Court, the consumers being cheated by various business houses and service organisations in the district find no opportunity to get justice as the court is yet to work
properly due to absence of the regular president.
The authorities have neither appointed a regular president nor nominated members to the court. As a result, a very large number of complaints have piled up in the court. The employees of the court are taking advantage of situation and joining duty at their will,
allege locals.
As per norms, the consumer court should have one regular President and two Members. While they have not been appointed, the Ganjam District Consumer Court president has been given additional charge to officiate court here. But people allege that they have never seen the in-charge president adjudicating cases here.
