The Sarpanch Union of Nuagada Block under the leadership of president Prema Majhi submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through Gajapati district Collector Smruti Ranjan Pradhan.
It listed demands like raising the monthly support money of Sarpanch from Rs 2, 500 to Rs 30,000; directly providing the Ama Odisha Naveen Odisha funds to the Sarpanch and providing Rs 10 lakh health insurance to the Sarpanch etc.
Luhangara SarpanchSubasini Mandala said, "We work day and night for the development of the people but there are no support to the Sarpanch compared to an MLA and an MP; hence the Government should fulfil our demands as soon as possible or else we will protest by boycotting all the State and Central Government works."
Almost all the Sarpanchs of Nuagada Block were present while submitting the memorandum.
