PNS

The Freethought Party of India (FPI) in collaboration with the “AMOFOI” observed here the 6th Death Anniversary of eminent rationalist and social reformer Dr Narendra Dabholkar with social workers Benudhar Maharana in the chair.

Dr Dabholkar, president of MANS (Maharastra Andhashradha Nirmulan Samiti) was gunned down on August 20 because he was working against all sorts of blind beliefs in different parts of Maharastra and Goa.  His Death Anniversary was observed as “Scientific Temper Day”.

A seminar too was held on the occasion.

Party general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire while paying rich tribute to the memory of Dr Dabholkar said that there should  be attempts to liberate people from the clutches of  Tantriks (Miracle Healers) and the self-claimed godmen like Asaram Bapu and Baba Ramrahim now  imprisoned because of their misdeeds.

Speaking on the occasion Madam Swapna Bijayini, cofounder of AMOFOI, said we cannot have “Swachha and Sustha Bharat” unless and until we get committed to the promotion of scientific temper and humanism as provided under Art. 51(A)h of the Constitution.

Two casteless, dowry-less and priest-less love marriages were held on the occasion.
