Four detained in OCA Secy house attack case

On the basis of a written complaint lodged by an acquaintance of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Asirbad Behera, the police on Saturday registered a case and began investigations into the bombing incident in the premises of Behera’s residence here on Friday afternoon.

For the second time during last fortnight, Behera’s house was on target by some unidentified persons, who escaped after hurling bombs. Although no one is injured in these twin incidents, it is surprising that Behera has not come forward to seek police help in this regard.

“One Biswanath Naik, a contact of Asirbad Behera has lodged a written complaint over Friday’s incident, which has been registered as an FIR,” said Bidanasi police station Sub-Inspector BK Dalai, the IO in the case. Dalai informed that the FIR has not named any accused. The police, however, have detained at least four persons and are quizzing them. Police have also seized two motorcycles from them, Dalai said, adding that Asirbad Behera has also been examined in this connection.
