A Toyota Fortuner SUV owner, who escaped from an accident narrowly after the brakes of his vehicle suddenly failed, has alleged little help and cooperation from the company’s dealer after persistent follow-ups.
The owner of the Toyota Fortuner (OD 01 M- 0001) Sabyasachi Barik, a resident of Akatpur in Baleswar district, said at a Press conference here on Tuesday, he had purchased the vehicle on October 12, 2015 and was regularly carrying out maintenance and repairs at the service centre. On April 13, 2017 he had done servicing of the vehicle at the Cuttack service centre. However, on the very next day while returning to Baleswar, suddenly the brakes failed. The incident shocked Sabyasachi; and when he called the company, they reportedly said, “It is a manufacturing braking defect system.”
