A team of SOG jawans conducted an intense operation in the border areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh near Ginella village of Koraput district on Friday. Similarly, a team of Andhra Greyhound jawans made a successful operation and recovered many kit bags used by Maoists along with some articles.

The jawans from Odisha border scanned Chatua, Padua and areas north to the Arku (AP) near Amphabali. “We got clues that Maoist leaders Suresh and Sunil were present with a team of 40 ultras in those areas and sent our team. An exchange of fire took place between the Maoists and the jawans. The search operation is on,” said a top official.

As per the information, police busted a Maoist hideout and recovered some articles but the Maoists were able to flee taking advantage of the villagers, he added.
