Two girls and three boys of a reputed high school here have been absconding since last two days. When their parents didn’t find them returning home in time on Tuesday after the school hour, they held a frantic search for them but in vain.
later, they lodged FIRs in the Dhanupali police station and police have registered a case.
“We are searching for the students. But the mobile phones of all of them remain switched off. Hence, we find it difficult to trace them out. But we are hopeful that they will be caught soon since we are tracking their other activities,” informed the IIC of Dhanupali police station Tofan Bag.
The matter is going to be further complicated as out of the three boys, two are from the minority community. Hence, there has been sharp reaction since many a time a group of people have been alleging the unruly activities of the students of this community.
It needs to be mentioned here that a just few weeks back, a student of the minority community of this school gave a love letter to a girl and the matter created problems to the school authorities. However, the parents of the girl didn’t lodge any FIR in the police station.
In the meanwhile, members of the CWC (children’s welfare committee) held a meeting on Wednesday where police, railway police, school authorities and guardians were present. The police narrated the steps taken by them for tracing the children.
The police informed that at about 3.00 pm of Tuesday their mobiles were traced from Jharsuguda. But thereafter, all the mobiles were switched off.
