The Puri district police have continued the interrogation process in order to get clues in the firing at law, Tourism and Culture Minister Maheswar Mohanty on Friday night near his residence at Puri town. Out of the total 40 people detained by the police, 33 were released till Monday evening, sources said.
Reliable sources from the Puri police said that four vehicles along with some fire arms used in the crime have been seized and the police were trying to ascertain the motive behind the attack. Two police teams have left Puri to nab mastermind of the firing outside, said the sources.
Police sources said that two to three people fired at the Minister when he was returning home on his bike.Meanwhile, condition of the Minister who has sustained multiple injuries in hand and waist is improving. Doctors of the Kalinga Hospital in the capital city said Mohanty has started taking liquid diet. Very soon they will take him out of the ICU, the doctor team informed.
