Tirtol BJD MlA Rabindra Bhoi, who has landed in trouble for concealing his educational qualification in his affidavit while filing his nomination papers for the 2009 elections, received a jolt on Thursday when his Congress rival Raj Kishor Behera lodged an FIR at the Jagatsinghpur police station demanding legal action against Bhoi under IPC and other legal provisions.

The police also said that a similar FIR has been received from Jagatsinghpur Block Congress Committee president laxmi Narayan Samantray against Jagatsinghpur BJD MlA Bishnu Charan Das stating that Das also filed a false affidavit during submitting his nominations for the 2009 polls as he has not given the correct property list of his wife Sanjukta Das. The police after receiving both the FIRs started preliminary investigation. After gathering proofs and documents, lawful action would be taken for registering the cases against the two MlAs, informed IIC of Jagatsinghpur police station Sanjeev Mohanty.

Earlier, Raj Kishor Behera, who was defeated by Bhoi, had posted a letter to the Election Commission of India and State Election Commission stating that Bhoi had given a false affidavit, but till date no response has come from both the election panels.  So, the FIR was lodged, Behera said.

Bishnu Das refuted the allegation against him, saying a plot of land which was registered in his wife’s name in the year 2006 but the land was donated to the Jagatsinghpur Municipality for building an approach road for public purpose.

So the land disowns his wife’s rights as consequence he had ignored giving its details in his property affidavit, MlA Das informed.

However, MlA Bhoi was unaware about an FIR which had been lodged against him with regard to his untruthful educational qualification in form of an affidavit during 2009 Assembly elections, but maintained he had approached Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to act on the matter after the incident surfaced and was still waiting his response.
