The India Association of Greater Tulsa celebrated the ninth year of its Utsav- India Fest at The Pavilion at Expo Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA on September 14. This year’s theme was “Festivals of India”.
The Odisha booth at the festival showcased Jagannath Rath Yatra, which was one of the best attractions. The chariot was pulled covering around 2,000 feet. This gave the overseas Indians a feeling of universal brotherhood and uniqueness of Odias’ cultural heritage where the god comes to the midst of devotees every year.
The event was headed by Santanu Das, an Odia, who is the current president of the India Association of Greater Tulsa. He is also the founder of the South Asian Performing Arts Foundation and has promoted many Odissi dancers and Odia artists throughout the USA.
