Jagatsinghpur Member of Parliament (MP) of the BJD Rajashree Mallick was seen crying on the stage at a programme a few days back reportedly due to mention of her name on a plaque at the bottom.

During a function to mark the inauguration of different projects in Brahmanibati panchayat under Kantapada block, Mallick cried on the dais and Niali BJD MLA Pramod Kumar Mallick pacified her. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.

A local, who attended the programme said Rajashree Mallick could have felt offended as her name was mentioned as other guests in the plaque. Urban Housing and Development Minister Pratap Jena was invited as a guest to inaugurate the programme while Niali MLA Mallick was stated in the plaque as chief guest. Their names were mentioned in the plaque on the top.

Contrarily, the invitation card for the function had mentioned the Minister as chief guest and the MP and the local MLA as guests of honour.

After staying for a few minutes, the local MLA and MP left the programme hurriedly. The MLA was overheard saying to Rajashree that the local Sarpanch arranged the programme and the protocol was not followed and such an instance would not recur.
