The incessant rains that battered almost all parts of State on Saturday due to a cyclonic circulation formed over north-west Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast haunt again the people of the State about a fresh flash flood.

Meanwhile, the local Meteorological Centre warned heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over coastal Odisha and heavy rainfall at one or two places over interior Odisha during next 48 hours while the rainfall will increase after July 29.In view of the prediction of heavy rains from Monday across the State, the people staying in low lying areas and districts like Bhadrak, Baleswar, Kalahandi, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj, where flood already wrecked havoc are in a fix now.

The Meteorological centre also warned the fishermen to be cautious while venturing into the sea as strong and gusty surface wind speed reaching 35-45 kmph from north-west direction may prevail along and off Odisha coast during next 24 hours. Till Saturday evening (5.30 pm) Dhenkanal recorded the highest rainfall of (37 mm) followed by Keonjhar (35 mm), Cuttack (28.4) and Balangir (13.4 mm).
