Farmers of the State would submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the State on December 24.
The memorandum would be submitted to Modi demanding “price, prestige and pension” for farmers, informed Navnirman Krishak Sangathan (NKS) convener Akshaya Kumar here on Wednesday.
The farmers would also stage a demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan and gherao the State Assembly on January 8 to press for their demands, Kumar said.
Recently on December 14, farmers under the aegis of the NKS had marched from Raghunathpur in Bhubaneswar to the Raj Bhavan to submit a memorandum to Governor Ganeshi Lal over their demands. But police intercepted them near NICCO Park Square and prevented them from marching towards the Raj Bhavan.
