Thousands of farmers from all gram panchayats under Bhuban took out a rally under the banner of Anti Corruption Committee and Krushak Sangharsha Samiti and handed over a 17-point charter of demands to the Bhuban Tehsildar. They were led by farmer leader Er Debashisha Hota.
The farmer outfit had taken out rallies in Kamakhyanagar, Gondia and the district headquarters town earlier. They requested the Collector to fulfill all their demands by December 4 and threatened to intensify their agitation and seek the intervention of the NHRC, NCST and NCSC, if their demands were not fulfilled.
Their demands included compensation to the land losers of Ramiala Malabandha, stopping pollution by Kanpura Misrilal Ferrochrome-2, extension of branch canals of Rengali canals, and distribution of land pattas to the landless, among others.
