The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit has condemned ruling BJD and Congress-led UPA Governments for spending huge amount of public money to highlight their achievements through advertisements in print and electronic media.
“Ahead of the general elections, the BJD and Congress are competing with each other in releasing advertisements in media, highlighting their various welfare schemes. They are using massive Government funds to do it. But what they claim as their achievement is actually their failure, for be it MGNREGA, health insurance scheme or farmers’ welfare, both the State and the Central Government have been bluffing while in reality nothing spectacular has
happened,” alleged BJP spokesperson Samer Mohanty.
While the State Government has completely failed in addressing farmers’ issues and checking farmer suicide rate, ironically it is claiming that it has achieved rapid strides in the farm sector with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik having received the Kirshi Karman Award for boosting up farm productions, alleged Mohanty.
Mohanty further said, “While large scale corruptions and scams have lowered the self esteem of the country at the global level, the claim of both the Governments that they are transparent is far from reality.”
