A day after an illegal sauce manufacturing unit was busted at Ganesh Nagar in Brahmapur, another factory engaged in fake water bottling was unearthed in the city on Sunday. The illegal unit was operating from a house in the second lane of Laxmi Vihar. Acting on a tipoff, the Bada Bazar police conducted a raid and seized huge quantity of water bottles having levels of reputed brands. The police said the unit owner was preparing water pouches and bottles without permission from the concerned authorities.
The factory has been sealed, the police added. Earlier on Saturday, the Bada Bazar police had seized a huge stock of the adulterated sauce and raw materials used in manufacturing in Ganesh Nagar area. Acting on a tipoff, the police raided the unit and confiscated the stock of duplicate chilli sauce, soya sauce and tomato sauce. Some bottles, machines used to prepare the sauce, raw materials, artificial colour and essence were also seized.
