The Odisha Suraksha Sena on Saturday in an FIR urged the Nasik Commissionerate of Police to immediately arrest Adhokshananda Devteerth who has erected a huge tent in the Kumbh Mela ground there impersonating himself as the Shankaracharya of Puri Gobardhan Peeth.
Adhokshananda has already been declared fake by the Odisha High Court and he has been restricted to enter 1000 metre-radius of the Puri Gabardhan Peeth area. Despite all these, he has been creating much hullaballoo proclaiming himself as the Puri seer. As Kumbhamela comes under your ambit, you take immediate action against him and arrest him on charge of impersonating,” demanded OSS legal wing chief lawyer Ramakant Panda in the FIR.
Panda said as Swami Nischalananda Saraswati, the original Shankarachrya of Puri, can’t move beyond ‘Kakata Mangala’, Puri at present for some religion reasons, Adhokshananda is seizing this opportunity to self-publicise himself as the Shankaracharya of Puri.
Panda also sent copies of HC and SC orders in favour of real Puri Shankaracharya Nischalananda Saraswati and news clippings on earlier arrest of Adhokshajanda in different newspapers.
